There are a number of ways to remove old or obsolete markings:
This uses gas and compressed air mixed to burn the old markings off, some areas are sensitive about using it but with the right control measures put in place is a very effective way to remove lines
This uses a mechanical floor planer to take the lines off, used for removing some of the thickness off lines and on concrete surfaces
